They scheduled the fireworks for the 3rd of July and this was the first year that it rained all day long, so we had to put up tents to hide from the drizzle. It was still a ton of fun, although slightly wet. Notice Mr. H has the citronella candle right next to his feet. Way to be a host, Mr. H, HA!
I had to wear my hair curly since it was sooo horribly humid!
We had a block party down at our neighbors house. They are a retired couple that moved to Oklahoma from New Orleans after Hurrican Katrina hit. They had relatives here and wanted to live inland for once. I don't blame them. I do love that they cooked all kinds of Cajun yummies - Gumbo, Jambalaya, Dirty Rice, Bread Pudding. We even had Hurricanes and Tropical Storms to drink. Yum!
Our neighborhood association always blocks off our part of the neighborhood since we have so many really young kids. That way, we don't have people driving through really fast and parking in front of our houses to watch the fireworks. It works out really well, since it gives the kids a chance to play in the middle of the block safely.
