My Sweet 12 Year Old Miracle

My wonderful, sweet first born officially turned 12 years old yesterday.  The last year of the preteens! 

I cannot even put into words what this child means to me.  He is everything I ever hoped and dreamed that he would be at 12.  He's bright, clever, smart, sensitive, caring, athletic, empathetic and has a great head on his shoulders.  He also loves his Momma with all his heart and that's really the most important thing to me. 

You see...this child is a miracle.

He was injured during the birth process and his right arm was completely paralyzed.  We started physical therapy when he was two days old and I prayed and prayed for a miracle.  His arm had no movement at all until he was five months old, when his Grandma put him on a prayer list and he miraculously raised his arm the next morning. 

God touched him in a special way so that he could go through life doing wonderful things. 

I truly believe he will. 

He's already put joy in my life that I never could have imagined before having children.

He showed me the meaning of true love and absolute contentment.

I love you Big Man!  Happy 12th Birthday! 

OU Sooners-BIG 12 CHAMPIONS!!!

 We made it to Jerry's World to see our Oklahoma Sooners play Nebraska!

 The boys were so excited to see the brand new stadium.  It was huge!

 We had the best seats-about 25 rows from the field and 5 rows from the OU band....I was in heaven.

My 39th Birthday

Today is my 39th birthday and I'm home with a bad cold.  It started on Wednesday night with that dreaded scratchy throat feeling and just kept getting worse and worse. 

39 isn't bothering me.  I'm happy with a great family and warm, comfortable home filled with signs of happy, joyful kids and my 2 dogs.  I started to try to clean the house and run around picking up but sat down because I felt horrible.  I just keep reminding myself that my house looks lived in right now and that is the true blessing.  I'm so thankful for what all I have accomplished in my 39 years.  I'm a great Mom and that is the most important thing in the world to me.  I can't wait to see what the next 39 years brings!

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat...

We put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving like we do every year. The boys love fluffing the branches and hanging all the ornaments.

 Our mantel...we changed it up a little this year.  The two white stockings are for the dogs, the red are for Mr. H and I, the green is Tater Tot's and the blue is Small Fry's.

 My Uncle Carl made me the wooden letters that spell Merry Christmas.  I set up the Merry on the left window and the Christmas on the right window.  So cute!  My Uncle Carl is 88 years old and the nicest man you would ever meet.  I don't get to see him very often since my Dad died but I have such great memories of spending many holidays with he and my Aunt Nila.

 My Mama Lou (Grandma) made these iceskates when I was very little girl.  I have about 4 sets of them and they are the first ornaments I put on the tree every year.

 I love homemade ornaments from the kids!
